Whiskey is commonly associated with the older, mature drinker so it was an interesting project to appeal, engage and ultimately bond with a new audience. We (the creative team at Protégé International Ltd) were entrusted with making this work and it’s fair to say we all enjoyed the roller-coaster ride that ensued.
I personally enjoyed the diversity in skills that was required for this. Developing existing packaging was a new field for me and I began
to understand the parameters in which cardboard technologies exist.
I was flown over to Italy to oversee the printing processes involved and this has provided me with great experience when designing an initial concept as I can see if it will work further down the production line, both in final product and within a budget.
